From Happy Heart Compassionate Eating
Best New Year\'s Greetings to you and your family, in whatever fashion you celebrate. (This is for the solar calendar\'s new year - - wait for more New Year\'s greetings on the Chinese lunar new year in February!)
May 2007 bring URI\'s vision to the eyes of souls longing for a new way of relating to their religious neighbors.
People can change and religions can lead the changes. For proof, read the latest post in the URI Happy Heart Compassionate Eating CC blog on how Tibetan Buddhist refugees in India are becoming vegetarians because they now live in a climate that can support a plant-based diet.
Compassionate eating for Tibetans has always been a virtue held in reserve - - they lived too high in the mountains to find vegetable protein. But now living in temperate India they can grow and enjoy a diet that accords with the Buddha\'s teaching on compassion.
Tibetan youth are leading the way to this religiously-sanctioned social transformation in Tibetan culture.
Blessings to you,
Heng Sure
