2048 Project - Humanities Written Agreement to Live TogetherPurpose: Our Mission is to draft an international framework for enforceable human rights that can be in place by the year 2048, the 100th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. 2048 is a project within the University of California, Berkeley, Law School. Through its website, 2048 provides curriculum for teachers to teach about the evolution of international human rights. One example is the lesson plan 2048 has prepared for International Human Rights Day, December 10, of each year. The plan includes a film, made by university students for students, and discussion points so that, on the same day, students in many countries learn about rights they all share. WE ASK THAT TEACHERS IN ALL CIRCLES SEND US THEIR EMAIL AND AGREE TO USE THE SAME CIRRICULUM FOR 1 HOUR ON ONE DAY, DECEMBER 10, 2009. Please send your email to

There are many ways an international framework for enforceable human rights could be created, and 2048 does not claim to have the ideal framework. So please visit our website and share comments on our Draft International Convention on Human Rights. URI can bring our respect, an International Convention can enforce freedom of religion and other important rights for all people in all countries. We need both!
